These are the words of the night prayer itself: what he ﷺ said on standing, and what he asked for once he had begun.
“Allahumma lakal-hamdu anta nurus-samawati wal-ard” is the long opening in Bukhari 6316. “Allahumma rabba Jibrila wa Mika'ila wa Israfil” is how Muslim 770 reports he began when he stood at night. Both ask to be guided and lit rather than to be given anything.

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ
Allahumma lakal-hamdu anta nurus-samawati wal-ardi wa man feehinn
O Allah, all praise is Yours. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all within them. (Opening of Tahajjud)
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ، اهْدِنِي لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ
Allahumma rabba Jibreela wa Meekaeela wa Israfeel, ihdini limakhtulifa feehi minal-haqq
O Allah, Lord of Jibril, Mikail and Israfil, guide me to the truth in what people differ over. (Opening of the night prayer)
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ
Allahummaghfir li ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhartu wa ma asrartu wa ma a'lantu
O Allah, forgive what I have done before and what I have delayed, what I concealed and what I declared.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا
Allahummaj'al fi qalbi nuran wa fi basari nuran wa fi sam'i nura
O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my sight, and light in my hearing.
“Allahumma lakal-hamdu anta nurus-samawati wal-ardi wa man feehinn” — O Allah, all praise is Yours; You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all within them. Bukhari 6316.
